about
After two years of their well received debut album “In Finitude”, Wooden Veins present us their new single “Tearing Seas”, showing a more progressive side with some heavier touch, but keeping their distinctive melodic vocal lines and atmospheric feeling.
Band would comment: “Tearing Seas is about sleep paralysis, feeling helpless in a situation you can’t control, the growing fear and the incapacity of knowing when it will end. We tried not to only lyrically express those feelings but by the music itself, changing colours and sections that represent different stages of those moments.”
Wooden Veins, formed by Chilean musicians mostly based in European countries, engages in classic melodic doom metal, combining it with progressive and gothic elements, exploring even further as they bring more heaviness and even Latin flavour into their sound.
lyrics
TEARING SEAS
Feeling weak, oh fleeting will
lost in the night
Feeling weak, oh fearless will
Lost in pain
Fearing… I’m used to feeling
feeling… I’m tired of fearing
Moments before the sky cried tearing seas
I came across bright shadows
mourning for my name
No more silent cold
seizing at our heart
No more silent eyes
staring at the night
No more silent cold
seizing at our heart
No more silent eyes
speaking to the night
I saw then myself
Ages growing through your veins
the fear, the light,
the shades, the sounds
increasing noise
no movement
breathing tense
they come, so slow
can’t move, can’t scream
can’t say a word
just breathe, just breathe
one minute, two
then go, then go
fearless will
get out, get out
go far beyond
get out, get out, get out
go far away
